Bus timetable kefalonia of buses and ferries to reach Kefalonia island
The summer plan with schedules and times are not ready yet but I would assume that there will be similar connections this year. KTEL buses run daily between the airport and Argostoli, the capital of the island. The bus terminates at the central bus station, from where you can board another bus depending on where your accommodation is located. But as far as I know you can only go towards Argostoli and have to get another bus to Sami from the central bus station.
The bus timetable kefalonia is the central KTEL Bus Station at Kifisou Avenue. The bus from the Athens airport will take about 1 hour to reach the Kifisou bus station. From Italy, with departures from the harbours of Venice, Trieste, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi, you can reach Patras by ferryboat. Some of the shipping companies that cover this route are Minoan, Red Star Ferries, Anek, Superfast, Grimaldi, Ventouris. From Patras proceed for 60 km along the New National Road via Pyrghos to the coast town of Killini. From Killini there are ferry boats leaving to Kefalonia and the the trip duration is about 1 hour and a half. Hi Mick, unfortunately there is no summer time table for the local busus yet. Public transportation is the most low-cost option to move around in Kefalonia. The central bus station is located in Argostoli, but there are also stations in Sami, Poros and Lixouri. Itineraries are frequent, but additional routes are added to the timetables during the high season. The routes serve a large part of the island and so several areas can be reached via a public bus, including the infamous Fiscardo and Myrtos. I have never seen a bus schedule like this on Kefalonia, allowing tourists in high season to see Kefalonia from South to North and East to West. No pitying smile anymore when guests ask for public transport.
The KTEL bus station releases the newest schedule only approximately every 7 to 10 days. Depending on the summer month there are usually 2 buses per day from Katelios to Skala, if I remember right . There is an excellent daily bus service from Athens directly to Kefalonia and vice versa.
